Navaratri is starting today. Many people have fast on all nine days. So here is a recipe that is useful for you for navaratri that is upawasachi bhajani. You can keep it ready and store for about 2-3 months. You can make different recipes from it like thalipeeth, dhirade, chakali etc. Do try this recipe at home and drop a comment for me. • 1 cup Sabudana
• 1 cup Rajgira
• 1 1/2 cup Varai
• 1 tbsp Cumin seeds
• Heat up a pan on medium heat.
• Add sabudana and roast until it turns light golden.
• Take it out into a dish when it puffs up nicely.
• In the same pan add a little rajgira and let if puff up.
• Do not add all the rajgira at a time into the pan.
• Add a little and when it puffs up like popcorns transfer them into
• Add varai into the pan and roast it a little until it turns light golden.
• Do not roast varai until it changes its color as the bhajani also will
change its color.
• If you roast the varai longer its bitterness will increase.
• Add cumin seeds into the pan and roast them a little for about
just 2-3 minutes just to release its flavour. No need to change the
• Transfer the cumin seeds into the dish and let it cool down a little.
• Transfer the mixture into blender jar and blend it into powder.
• Sieve the blended bhajani through suji sieve once and transfer the
left over coarse powder into blender jar again
• Blend it again with next batch.
• Upawasachi bhajani is already.
• You can store it in airtight container for about 2-3 months.
• You can make upawasache thalipeeth, chakali, dhirade from it.
