Funke is a khandesh special recipe. These are generally prepared on holi. This is a very easy and simple recipe. These are healthy too. Try this yummy recipe at home and drop a comment for me. You also can like, share and subscribe.

Ingredients:
• 1 cup Chana dal
• 1/2 cup Moong dal
• 4~5 green chilli
• Garlic cloves
• Cumin seeds
• Finely chopped Onion
• Turmeric powder
• Finely chopped Coriander leaves
• Roughly chopped Curry leaves
• Salt to taste
• 1~2 tsp Oil

Method:
• Wash and soak chana dal in enough water for about 5 hours.
• Wash and soak moong dal in enough water for about 5 hours.
• Drain all the water from both dal.
• Transfer both the dal into a blender jar.
• Add green chillies, garlic, cumin seeds and blend into coarse
paste.
• You can add chopped garlic too if you want.
• Do not add any water while blending.
• Take the blended mixture out into a dish.
• Add onion, turmeric powder, coriander leaves, curry leaves, salt
and mix well.
• Make small balls from the mixture and transfer them into
steamer.
• You can use a strainer for these funke to steam like kothimbir
vadi.
• You can use idly cooker too.
• Steam funke on medium heat for about 10 minutes.
• After steaming let the funke be in the steamer for another 10
minutes.
• Take the funke out.
• Heat up oil in a pan.
• Drop the funke in the oil and shallow fry them.
• Flip funke over after about 2 minutes of frying.
• Shallow fry from other side as well and take them out.
• Funke are all ready.
• You can have funke steamed only that is without shallow frying.
• If you roll them in round shape then you can shallow fry them in
appe patra too.
